Redwood Regional Park Valley Hike
Located in the valley of East Bay Regional Park District’s Redwood Regional Park, this hike highlights the serenity of the park and beauty of the approximately 150 foot tall redwood trees that are abundant throughout the park. Starting at the Wayside Overflow Parking inside the park’s Redwood Gate, the hike takes the traveler across the Redwood Stream to the Bridle trail. The overall length of the hike is approximately 2.6 miles with an overall difficulty rating of Easy-Intermediate, with a maximum difficulty level of Advanced. Pets are welcome but must be on leash in the developed areas of the park.
Wildcat Canyon Havey Canyon Mountain Bike Challenge
Looking to test your cardio fitness? This slightly more then 15 mile mountain bike loop will test your cardio fitness while traveling over some of the most scenic trails in the East Bay. Starting in the East Bay Regional Park District’s Wildcat Canyon Regional Park, this trail path loops from the Wildcat Creek trail to Tilden Park, up to the famed Nimitz Way trail and back to Wildcat Creek trail via Wildcat Canyon’s Havey Canyon trail. NOTE: This loop is only available during the dry season.
Alameda Bay Farm Island Stroller Walk
Located on the northern shores of Alameda’s Bay Farm Island, this 2.5-mile out and back walk provides beautiful views of the City of San Francisco Skyline and the Bay. Starting at Veteran’s Court, the trail path travels west along the San Francisco Bay Trail to Sea View Parkway. The trail is rated overall as Easy with one small segment rated as Intermediate. This is a perfect walk for someone with a stroller or starting a walking program as the path is paved and relatively flat the entire length.
Briones Horseback Riding Loop
This slightly less then 5-mile ride highlights the beauty of the East Bay Regional Park District’s Briones Regional Park. The park is a popular horseback riding location because of its horse-friendly accommodations and its diversity. This loop starts the rider at the Bear Creek Staging Area in the lot closest to the fire access gate. The rider will travel across Old Briones Road, Briones Valley and the Briones Crest trail. This trail path has an overall rating of Intermediate with a maximum level of difficulty of Moderate.
